Umbuzeiro, o símbolo do sertão

Olá gostaria de apresentar para vocês uma das maravilhas da nossa região semi-árida que eu aprendi a valorizar muito, e desejo que todos possam experimentar esse fruto saboroso um dia.

Hello, I would like to present a fruit called "umbu" which is the symbol of semiarid of Bahia, Brazil. The "umbu" produces every year, during one season and is very resistent to dry conditions. First we used to consume only the fruit but then we learned to prepare juice, jam and sweets of the "umbu". Now we have this fruit for the consumption of the family during the whole year, even when the tree is not producing.
